Canadian international student (I am chinese) lost passport, study permit in US

Ok.... i an a international student study in canada and i decided to go to US this year during winter and here i am in the states and then i found out that i lost my passport.
The study permit is on the passport. Right now i got the temporary passport from Chinese console, but how can i going back to canada? Does anyone know what can i do here?

I dont think i can actually use this, iam still in the US niw, and i need to go back to canada within next week.

find similar situation to yours.

contact to your school and ask if you can get a photocopy of your old study permit, passport (if they have) and a letter of confirmation of registration etc.

explain boarder officer your situation and present all docs to prove you hold study permit.

Here is my story once at the US-Canada BORDER

I was once travelling with my family to Seattle ( half day trip as i was living in Vancouver )
I didn't have TRV at that time, I only had a study permit which I forgot it at my place in Vancouver.
I stopped at the border, and was asked where my study permit, didn't know It wasn't in the passport,
Asked me several question about where is my SP and why I wasn't attaching it to my passport, then he said I am satisfy that you are leaglly temporary resident of Canada therefore I am allowing your entry

Don't know if my story could help with your situation but the officers something can understand your situation, you may stay at the border for couple of hours, but they'll let you in if they feel like it

I lost my passport with valid temporary resident visa and the study permit . I ordered a new passport. I have the scanned copy of study permit and visa .i have the status letter from my university. Can i re enter canada with these papers?
