Sorry guys these abbreviations are getting a bit much for me :-S

EE = Express Entry, got it.

WES = World Education Services? (That's where I can get my ECA...)

ECA = Education Credential Assessment? (The thing that basically aligns my UK degree to Canadian standards?)

ITA = ?? Totally lost on that one.

IELTS = ?? Again not sure on what it stands for, but I assume it's something to do with language? At least I think that's where I saw it mentioned.

So I do the ECA thru WES, then an English test (which is amusing as I'm actually English :-D), then I'll have to redo my EE application again from the beginning as it doesn't seem to let me edit it once I've submitted it?

Am I in the right direction? Is there any other pitfalls I'm overlooking?

You're in the exact direction.
ITA= Invitation to Apply. You receive it when you're above the cutoff score for the round of invitation. That's when you actually fill-out a through questionnaire, and submit documents and proof of all claimed points.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System)=Yes, it's one of the two accepted standardized English language tests. There is another one, but let's not add one more acronym :D. You do have to take IELTS (or the other one) even if you're British. It's Canada's way of being fair by assessing all candidates based on skill & ability rather than premise.

Actually, you can edit your language scores even after receiving ITA. It's just that if your points change (if they drop) after receiving it due to change in language score, you'll have to explain why. So yes, might as well wait till you have everything in hand.
