Hello Jes:

Thank you for your comments. I spoke to my manager regarding my situation with PGWP and the requirement of an LMO for extending my work permit. He is pursuing the matter with the HR for now. In the meantime, Its been almost 2 months since CIC charged my credit card for the application fees and I haven't received a formal response (AOR). They received my application of 28th April this year and I am a bit concerned. What are your thoughts?

Thank You.
Salman Omar.

Hi - it takes time for the AOR, 2-4 months usually. If you gave an email address, make sure to check your spam folder at least once a week, just in case....

Hey guys I just got my LMO today. It took exactly a month to get. Thanks so much for all the Help - it would have been extremely confusing without you guys :)
Now I just have to wait for my AOR for my permenant residency.

Hey guys just a quick question..

Since I recently got my LMO and am ready to apply for a Work Permit do I fill the forms for Application for Work Permit Made Outside Canada [IMM 1295]? It just seems a little odd because I am already in Canada and working through the Post grad work permit. Is there a different work permit application form for those who were working on a PGWP and have received their LMOS or do I just fill the Application for Work Permit Made Outside Canada [IMM 1295] form.

regards

You need to apply to Extend/Change conditions -

Oh wow this is pretty easy and straightforward.. Thank you so much again :)

Hey guys I have another quick question. I already have a full time job but I was thinking of working in the evenings part time as well. I am assuming that wouldn't be possible with my existing lmo right?

Hey, no once you get a new work permit it will be a closed work permit limiting you to your current employer. this is different from your PGWP which is an open work permit.

You are correct, not possible. As already noted, the LMO is issued for a closed work permit, it is only valid for the postion/employer identified on the LMO. You will not get an additional LMO for a part-time job...

Hey guys,

Thanks for the response. I wanted to know what other options do I have if i wanted to supplement my income a little more? Do I have to work under the table? I would like to make more than the 35,500 i make a year from my exisitng employer. Like work in the evenings maybe at a bar or something.

No legal options for a 2nd job in Canada. If you freelanced for a non-Canadian company, you could do it, but I assure you, the taxes are nightmarish :)
