Canadian Experience Class (CEC ) vs. Provincial Nomination ?

Which is faster for getting my permanent resident status: the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) or the Canadian Experience Class (CEC)?

I've been working in Canada (Winnipeg) for the past three years. I'm an intra-company transferee from the United States. I recently received a nomination from Manitoba.

When I looked up the average processing times for CIC to process PR visa applications in indicates under the Canada Experience Class category it's 13 months while Provincial Nomination category (submitted through the Los Angeles office) is 31 months.

I thought applications submitted under the Provincial Nomination category were prioritized and processing times were considerably less than another other category ?

Which category would be best (fastest) for me to apply under?

Any information and/or suggestion you could offer would sincerely be appreciated !

If you've already been nominated by the province, that shouldn't take you much longer, at least it didn't take my friends too long. and It's also not very complicated process after Nomination. All of my friends have got it.
BUT YOU SHOULD GO FOR BOTH

In case PNP takes too long , there will be CEC as a solution. And hopefully you'll get at least 1 of them approved. :D All the Best

I don't know about PNP, but under CEC, applicants are getting approved within 8-9 months (on average) from the application date.

CIC has really sped up the process starting this year.

Go for CEC..They are processing applications really fast nowadays. As mentioned above, it's taking 8-10 months on average now.

With PNP, there is a risk of cancelling your nomination in case of lay off.
CEC is probably faster but CIC is strict with evaluating your eligibility.
If you can afford it, PNP could be a good backup

Hi, my dear friend

even I am eligiblr for cec and have mpnp LOA but i applied for federal itself and once it gets rejected then i thought to apply for mpnp.

CEC takes 8-9 months, if u r lucky even less as well as now a days there are very fast...

MPNP takes around 11 months for processing..

basically have mpnp as a back up and apply for cec..

There are numbers of other applicants from July, June or even May 2013 (9, 10 and 11 months respectively) as well as few earlier applicants. So no one can tell you how long it will take to process your case. Personally, I had to wait full 4 weeks from medicals received to passport request late last week.
