Canadian expat moving back with Polish spouse

Hello everyone, I am a Canadian citizen originally from Toronto with a Polish spouse. We both reside in the UK, and we have lived with each other for about a year before getting married a few weeks ago. I would like to move back to Canada with my spouse, as I feel the opportunities in my field and the way of living are better at home than they are here in the UK. We have planned a trip to Vancouver (my partner can stay for 6 months as a tourist) and during this time I was planning to submit a Sponsorship Request. Will this approach be viewed as insincere?

It is my understanding although my partner will be in Canada when I apply for sponsorship, applying inland means there will be no grounds for appeal if need be. Does that mean if the application fails my partner and I can not live in Canada if we wanted to live together? Should I then be applying outland despite both us being in Vancouver for at least six months?

Thanks for your help in advance!

There is nothing insincere as long as you both state your intentions when you enter Canada (that she is only visiting and that you will sponsor her, and if it fails she will leave the country) BTW paying the sponsorship fees before entering is recommended

The approval rate is very high for visa exempt countries (Poland being visa exempt) so I would not worry about refusal (unless there is something seriously wrong with the sponsor or applicant). The main benefit of inland is that your spouse can apply for an open work permit

Agree with smallcoffee.

You are right about inland vs outland, but honestly, I would not worry about 'refusals and appeals'. If you are in a genuine relationship (photos etc.) then you will have no problems with the inland route, with the bonus that she can apply for an Open Work Permit at the same time as your submit your sponsorship papers. That would then take 2 - 3 months to come through. Your spousal sponsorship might however take upwards of one year.
