My cousin is a Canadian.he has been away from Canada for 2 years. He is re-entering now. He is going to put a wrong date in the column "WHEN DID YOU LEAVE CANADA LAST". I do not know if that will land him into trouble. will there be a record of his entering and leaving Canada?

Yes - CIC has access to records stating when your cousin left Canada. It is always a very bad idea to lie on customs forms and this could create problems for him (especially if he is a permanent resident rather than a citizen).

as a citizen you are not obliged to satisfy residency requirements.. so wts the need to input a wrong date on form...

safeguard against those lies

Absolutely! As a citizen he can come and leave as he pleases. Unless he is not..
