depending on the office, it doesn't take long to set an appointment. generally, if they aren't busy there is very little wait for an appointment. at the appointment, the doctor will give her an "emedical receipt" that goes in the application, so as soon as the exam is over you have all the information needed for the application. the doctor will submit the report in the system, and when CIC receives the app for processing, they will be able to pull it up based on the receipt you put in the package.elithx said:

I have one more question when we enter Canada after our honeymoon.
From what I remember there are 2 lines. One for Canadian citizens, and one for international travellers. Should I go into the international line with my (then) wife, or will we have to go separately? Can I walk over to her line to help explain the situation?

you will need to go to separate lines. more than likely, cbsa will not allow you to explain on her behalf. if they want to ask you questions about the situation, they will have you come over and ask you questions after they have already talked to your wife. your entries are separate. you are a canadian citizen and have the right to enter. she is not, and she will need to answer the questions they have on her own, if there are any. they won't allow you to talk for her unless they specifically want you to. while they may ask you questions to confirm her details, when it concerns HER entry, she is generally the only one they want to hear from.elithx said:I have one more question when we enter Canada after our honeymoon.

My husband and I flew into Toronto together after the wedding, he went to the Canada line and I went to the international. The CBSA officer asked where I had been and why, I said to marry. He asked where my new husband was and I explained he's in the Canada line. He laughed and asked if I was going to apply for PR now and I said yes. He said good luck and sent me on my way. I actually beat my husband through customs. We laughed as we were so nervous. I had even wrote I was staying for 180 days on my declaration card. Yes, you can go to the international line with her. My partner and I did this. The officer didn't say anything to me about being in that line or having to go to the Canadian line. She just processed us both as normal. I did most of the talking, as I was the one who knew more about the PR app; there was no issue.elithx said:
