Dear All,

I am in the process of applying for FSW program and completed my one year education in canada. I would like to know how many points will I be granted for FSW program in terms of canadian education and my home education of 15 years. I presume I dont require to undergo the education credential criteria.

Will they grant me points only on basis of my canadian education or my home education will be counted.

Appreciate your quick response. Thanks

Regards
Ron

What education did you complete in Canada? What education did you complete in your home country?

The financial planning course won't give you points. You need to get your MBA formally evaluated.

To get points, you must:

prove that you earned a Canadian diploma or certificate,

Canadian post-secondary degree or diploma for a one-year program, or equal 15 points

They have mentioned this on their website

Did you complete a diploma or just a certificate in Canada? If you completed a diploma and don't bother to get your BCOM / MBA evaluated, you will get 15 points. If you get your MBA evaluated, you could end up with up to 23 points.

So why on earth wouldn't you get your MBA evaluated to score the maximum number of points?

Is the Financial Planning course you took at GB a certificate course or a diploma? If it's a certificate then you won't get the 15 points.

CERTIFICATION Ontario College Graduate Certificate (Postgraduate)

"Having your foreign education assessed.
If you do not have a Canadian degree or diploma (in some cases, a “certificate”), you must get your foreign education verified and assessed to prove it is equal to a completed Canadian credential."

I think I will get 15 point on the basis on this program.
