Canadian Degree equivalency

Hi All,

Is there anyone who has done MBA from ICFAI Hyderabad.
As I know a friend of mine who did MBA from ICFAI Hyderabad but her graduation was of 3 years so her MBA was given status of Bachelors 4 years by WES.

But in my case I have done B.Tech (4 years) and then MBA. So will my MBA be cosidered as equivalent to Masters for Canada ??
Please provide inputs.

Is yours MBA or PGDM? What is written I in your final certificate?

WES considers PGDM as Bachelors and MBA as masters.

Mine is MBA but the point is they recently considered 2016 batch passout MBA degree as 4 years Bachelors equivalent. She had done graduation of 3 years before MBA. Does 3 or 4 year graduation make a difference.

I have done my PGDM and B.Tech, and was given double Bachelors. Also depends on the accreditation of your university / college.

In your case, if you have a valid accreditation for MBA, it will be considered masters provided your final certificate clearly mentions it as MBA and not PGDM. Else, will be treated as Bachelors.

Oks, Its written MBA on the final degree.
And the University/College (IFHE/ICFAI Hyderabad) has been accredited by UGC and has Grade “A” by NAAC

And I have checked for my friend 2016 passout, he/she has second division in BCom so its being considered equivalent to 3 years Bachelors by WES (in case of first division, it would have been equivalent to 4 years Bachelors), that’s why the MBA would have been considered as equivalent to 4 years Bachelors - next level after 3 years equivalency.

Your MBA from ICFAI will be post graduate diploma from WES.
