Hi, I need advice please. I went to Canada on Visiting Visa Last year August, after searching for work online with no luck. I meet a lawyer that promise to find me a job, process my LMO and generally helping me in applying for TWP for a restaurant supervisor post 6311. He charge me $6000, and ask for $4000 deposit which I paid. It all looks genuine, he even gave me a contract for his services. I receive a job offer and employment contract in October and he promise to start processing my LMO. He told me in December that my LMO has been approved and that he will apply for my TWP for me, which I said no, that I would rather apply myself that he must just send me the LMO, after a month he finally sent the LMO and I find out it was fake. He just edited a LMO sample on the internet, and put my name on it.
I am so shocked and confused, can't believe he can do such a thing and now he as refuse to pick my call or respond to my emails for a couple of days now. What can I do people? I have a copy of the contract I signed with his company, proof of the $4000 I paid him and all his emails as proof. I am currently in Korea where I work at the moment. Any advise will be appreciated, I feel stupid to fall for this.

Very sorry you find yourself in this situation. Without naming him here, was he actually in the list if approved consultants? If so, report him to them. It sounds like you may have to sue him to get your money back if he will not do so. Good luck. I hope others give you more suggestions.

How and where did you meet this "laywer"? You should report to Canadian Immigration Citizenship.

It is a serious crime to lie, or to send false information or documents, when you deal with Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). This is fraud. It is called “misrepresentation.”

Document fraud can involve either false or altered documents,
If your immigration representative breaks the law while acting on your behalf, they can be charged under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, the Criminal Code of Canada or the laws of your home country.

If you know they broke an immigration-related law (for example, if they submitted false documents with your application), quickly contact:
• the Citizenship and Immigration Canada office processing your application or
•the Canada Border Services Agency .

Has your representative defrauded you personally? For example, have they:
•charged you a fee but not done what they said they would, or
•demanded a fee to return your passport?
if you still in canada call local police
