Hi,

What if one does not have or lost original copy of "Record of Landing". Is Photocopy of the same acceptable?

Regards
Yasir

To submit an application, you just need to enclose a photocopy....

But you should apply for replacement here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/certcopy.asp

Apply now so you have it in time for citizenship test/oath, as processing for replacement takes 6-7 months.
And keep it safe, it will be needed in future (retirement, old age benefits, etc)

Hi Canvis,

What if one does not have original Record of Landing (RoL), only photocopy at the time of citizenship test! One friend is already upset up on this.. I personally think it will only delay his process for citizenship. Possibly my friend will be asked to give test but provide RoL later, as he can request one from the link you provided.

Cheers

My experience from taking the test is that the people who showed up without their RoL and had lost it were allowed to take the test but instructed on ordering the copy of RoL from CIC. I do not know how long it takes and if that delayed their oath. If your friend wants to save time, he should request the RoL already and will have it sooner, maybe in time for the exam.
