Canadian Citizenship - Tax filing information - Question#12

Hello All - I need ur suggestion on Question #12 in the application.

Q12 (b): Tell us when you filed your income taxes in the last five (5) years using the chart below.
I came to Canada in 2016 and started Job in 2016. Prior to that I filed my taxes for tax year 2015 in India. When I fill for last 5 years, Do I need to mention Tax year 2015 as well.

As I am applying in October Do I need start tax year from 2020 till 2016 [2020; 2019; 2018; 2017 & 2016] or
2019 till 2015 [since in 2015 I'm India - I would mention 2015 Required to file - NO ; Taxes filed - NO]

Please clarify? Thanks in advance.

Hi. 2020 tax is coming in february. You mention 2019, 2018, 2017 and 2016. India probably uses different tax system. Do not include what you filed in India, because you can confuse CIC. They will be looking for your tax info using you SIN and would not find 2015.

You are fine with 2019, 2018, 2017 and 2016
