ya he should go back to his country and you should really think about all this again. As worldisyours said, you are still young and i dont think thats what you want for your life, you should make the best out of it, you might regret all this. Give this time, see how things go once hes back to his country and dont overdo/rush this. Have a close look at it without the pink glasses of love, dont get used by him if he does. We all here can have a more realistic view to it than you, even though we dont know you both, we just tell you to be carefull, after all he seems not to be a guy that likes to do things the right way, can only hope he learns his lesson and truely loves you.
Wish you good luck in making the right choises!

1. He is actually eligible to apply for rehabilitation 5 years after the completion of his sentence.
2. Depending on what his conviction was for, if he could have got 10 years or more in Canada, then "deemed rehabilitation" after 10 years doesn't apply.
Spot on - I just finished reading through this material myself.

Honestly looking at everything you just mentioned, it doesn't sound too good. Rethink everything and make wise decisions, may be consider your family members whilst making the biggest decision in your life.

It doesn't matter where you marry him. You won't be able to sponsor him for PR for another three years. You have to wait for 5 years to pass since the completion of his sentence.

I don't think he will have a choice what country he goes back to. He will have a remote chance of entering Canada and more than likely he will have a remote chance of entering any country besides his birth/ country of citizenship. As most have said definitely have a long hard think and give it some time and see how you feel.

Good luck :D
