I am Canadian citizen, married to a Taiwanese woman who is in the final stages of her PR application. We expect she will receive PR this summer.
My skillset is highly specialized, and there is a lack of job opportunities in Canada. I have applied for jobs in Seattle, California and New York, that pay 25-40% more than what I can make here.
I would be eligible for a US NAFTA TN visa to work, and I understand my wife could have a US TD visa to accompany me.
Regarding her maintaining her PR status, according to CIC, "Time spent outside Canada may also count towards the two years if you are: travelling with your spouse or partner who is a Canadian citizen." — the "may" part is worrying me.
Any recommendations for how she can maintain her Canadian PR status if living with me in the United States?
Also, if she is able to maintain her PR status, would any of her time accompany me in the US count towards her Canadian citizenship requirements?
