Hi everyone,

I received an ITA and am preparing to submit my application.
I have a son who was born here in Canada earlier this year, hence he is Canadian.

On my PR application online, there is a question, "Is this person, XX accompanying you in your application?".
Am i right to assume that the answer to this question is "no", since he is Canadian?

Please advise! The IRCC call centre is useless....

I think you will still have to select yes and submit his birth certificate.

My situation was little different My baby girl was born after i submitted my application then i submitted her Birth certificate issued by ontario govt.

According to my GCMS notes by case Analyst Accompning dependents are 2 my spouse and canadian born baby. But i just had to submit her birth certificate as she is already canadian no medical no extra fees.

You are correct. Here, "accompanying" means "immigrate with you". Since he is not applying to immigrate, you can put "non- accompanying." Then include a brief letter of explanation - that your son was born in Canada, and include a scan of his birth certificate.

Hi thanks so much!!
I'm really skeptical about putting yes though ... cause technically, he isn't part of the application..as he is already Canadian.

Hey there - I included my child in my application as he is my dependent. It does not makes sense as he is Canadian but I included him anyway to be safe.. I had to pay the fee $150 for him, again does not makes sense as he is a citizen. I am planning to write to CIC to request for a fee refund for my child.
I just received my PPR a day ago.

Thanks very much for your reply. So you filled in your child's application like any other application doing medicals etc?

Oh no, my child did not do his medicals.
I only declared him as an accompanying dependent and I uploaded his birth certificate to prove that he is a citizen.

Hi,
One quick question. Before ITA too, did you mention as number of applicants as 3 and POF as 18K? Later, Post ITA, the POF also you mentioned as 18K???

1. If you read the instructions, it say do NOT include any family members in the application who are either a Permanent Resident or a Canadian citizen. The Canadian child is only listed on the IMM 5406.
2, Read the instructions under dependents on the IMM 008

Hi there,
I am in the same situation. I am 98% complete with filling my application. I have uploaded all the documents and then I noticed that I am being charged 150$ for my daughter who is Canadian citizen by birth.
I am wondering if I should press the start again button or how can I remove her from the application without re-entering everything from scratch again?
