Canadian 10 year passport fee is it $160 or $160 + $20?

Hey guys,

I am a bit confused I am in the process of applying for the 10 year passport and was confused on the fees. Is its $160 for a 10 year passport and it gets delivered to my address and its $160 plus $20 if I want to pick it up right?

1. Right $160 for home delivery $180 if you want to pick it up after 10 days.

For us it was sent by Canada Post express in 6 calendar days of turning in the appln in person at pp office.

Same here, 160$ when you turn the app in a canada passport office yourself and receive it by Canada post. Took only 1 week after my wife applied and received the passport in the mailbox!

Also I know in the checklist it says we have to submit the original citizenship certificate - just want to make sure if guys did

If you go to a Passport Canada office, they will check it then give it bacj to you. Not sure when you mail your application by canada post.

Oh I see. I am planning to submit it at the passport office so guess I will just take it.

So you have the choice of applying for 5 or 10 years? What is the advantage of applying for the 10 years over the 5 years?

The only advantage is its valid for 10 years than 5 years meaning you don't have to renew it until the 10years are up.

1 - The convenience of not having to renew it after 5 years.
2 - Paying 160 dollars for 10 years instead 140 for 5 years + 140 for the next 5 years (assuming, of course, it will remain 140 dollars in 5 years).
