CanadaPost Expresspost Envelope - National or Regional?

Hello All.

I received the passport request from CPC. . They wrote this

"we strongly recommend that you purchase two (2) PREPAID Canada Post Xpresspost envelopes (National), letter-sized (318 x 241 mm), at any Canada Post retail outlet"

When i went to Canada Post outlet, they said National is for whole country, except Ontario. For Ontario, its Regional. If i send National Envelope for Ottawa, Canada Post will send it back to the sender.

Confused. Suggestions please.

you are from Ontario then u don't need national envelope, but I will recommend that you should buy national envelope because CIC asked you to buy national envelope.

Pretty sure regional will work too, as long as it is from Canada Post and you are in ON.

But up to you, it is only about money.

CP agent is correct if you are in ON regional envelop will work .

CIC use standard email format , they don't use separate email body for ON resident

Is this true even for Temporary Resident Visa applications? though sending would be Regional. Will the passports with Visa be returned from Ottawa (Regional) or any other visa office? in which case National would be needed. no?
