HI Guys

My Canada WP got rejected after a long wait. :-[ My local Immigration team says the reason is not clear from CIC but they think its with the experience and Specialized skills. But I am specialised in Mobile Applications development and I have a 4 years of exp in it relatively I think I am specialised enough in lot of tools and skills. Donno whats the exact reason and I was told that I am the 9 the person getting rejected from my company in this month :( I hope its really tough to get a Canadian WP here after. Its really bad that CIC is not willing to disclose the rejection reason as it is... are we raising the Visa for time pass?? We have lot of plans, promises, expectation, dreams but everything is shattered by such decisions without reason!! >:( Wasted a lot of time and energy in this!! >:( My sincere advice would be to add a lot of info in your specialised skills and add sufficient data for the same. All the best for the people waiting!!

Sorry to hear that Sandy. I think this is an ICT. Did your employer or immigration team take care to project your skill very unique?

9 rejections is just too many. I guess you fall under the Category Noc 2174 or 2173(S/W developer) . Are these positions LMO exempt?
If yes, did the visa officer give any reason for rejection for other 8 people?

Hi I got rejected too...
I didn't know about the new law and I did it all myself.
As it was an ICT (which is... I mean USED to be smooth) I submitted very simple papers with company relationship, resume, and letter.
I got rejected and this is just really bad.
Now I will need to do it all again giving them tons of paper, letters ecc...

I'm just hoping they will not care much about previous refusal and they will take the new apply asa brend new one...

Here are some details:

My Status: PGWP expiring on August 16,2014( Toronto)

I studied a 1 year post secondary certificate and have more than 7 years experience in similar field back in India

Job Noc 5241 : Currently on a fulltime job with more than a median pay, about 25$ an hour. What do you think as per chances with the new LMIA rules to extend my work permit. My company is ready to do whatever is needed to as they need me for the project for at least an year more. I have been working for this company since January 2014.

As per the below link, it mentions that my company does not need to advertise before applying LMIA( or LMO earlier) as it is a specialized skill.

edsc.gc.ca/eng/jobs/foreign_workers/variations

I would be glad if you can share some info or suggest as per your knowledge. My main question is do i stand a strong chance since i an already in Canada, on a specialized skill and have a more than median pay for ontario
Thanks

The link you posted doesn't apply to your situation. Your employer needs to advertise your job to get an LMIA.

@Scylla. Could you elaborate what u mean by my situation? Isnt it the same?

The rules changed this summer, PGWP employers must now advertise the position before apply for a LMIA.

Hi Everyone. I am going to apply for low skilled temporary work permit from India. Can you please tell me if I need to show any funds ? if yes, how much do you think I need to show ? I have 5 lacs in Fixed desposit and around 1 lakh in my saving account. I do not have any land to show.

i was asked to pay $2000 refundable fee on port of entry by Airport immigration lawyer before my hard copy Visa will be sent to as an international Applicant of Canada working Visa, somebody help me how true is this? that this is also enshrined in Canadian immigration Act.

Not true. You have a TRV and LOI, and your work permit will be issued at the POE, as you have already paid the $155.00 when you applied.
