Hi, I have been working in Canada on WP from Nov'4-2017 and planning to apply for PR. I already gained one year experience and I hear by October-2019, my experience would be calculated in system as 2 years that would gain me 25 points for second year. Is that true and its just only based on month calculation or system checks for exact date as profile submission did not look for date of start in Canada . Any comments would be helpful. Thanks.

You are right. The system will calculate in that way, but it is not your true score. If you receive an ITA in october, you have to decline the ITA. The CIC analyst will calculate your experience down to the exact day.

Thanks for your response. Even if I receive my ITA, I would have 60 days for document submission and that would have 2 years in days when I submit my documents after Nov-04. Is that a possible approach?

Unfortunately, no. The analyst will calculate your score based on the ITA invitation date.

This is not correct. That would be true if the OP was talking about the one year of work experience for program eligibility (MEC, or minimum entry criteria).

It is not true for the 2nd year, as it is only relevant to the CRS score, not program eligibility. An applicant´s CRS points are re-calculated at the time the eAPR is submitted, and the new CRS score is the one used to determine that the applicant´s CRS score is eligible under the draw.

Yes, as long as you submit your eAPR after you complete the 2nd year (and document it - e.g. date on letter of reference), then you will keep the points for the 2nd year.

That is true about the profile using only MM-YYYY, but the VO will use actual dates (MM-DD-YYYY). This creates a lot of problems for applicants.

Thank You. Makes a possible approach and with dates in the documentation.

Thank you! I misunderstood this before. The A11.2 processing document says exactly what you mentioned here!

Any specific date on which the profile will refresh to add points for 2nd Year ,1 month prior to its actual completion.

My actual completion would be Nov-4. Will the point gets refreshed by Oct-1. Thanks in advance.
