Nuances, indeed. In no sense did I imply that current performance is good, acceptable, nor imply that it should not be more fair. It should be fixed.

But proposals that would objectively, unquestionably make it worse and have serious unintended consequences should be avoided. And strict first-in, first-out, as proposed by you, would do just that.
First I thought you are just joking. But looks like you are serious. Maybe because we have different understanding of what we mean by first-in-first-out. I think your reference point is who leaves the system after oath. But I think what others referring to is who gets picked to start the process (of application) itself.

What we want is that everyone lines-up in one queue (and at the tail of the queue) and IRCC picks up an application from other end of the queue for processing. I don't think you would disagree with this. And I don't think this is followed first of all. If I understand correctly, paper applications and online applications are in two different queues now.

Once an application is picked for processing, as they go through multiple stages, if IRCC blocked as it waits for further info/documents from the applicant then it can pick up an application next inline as other applicant is unblocked.

But assuming that two applications join the queue one after another and both are simple regular (routine) applications, can we say that they would get processed in similar (if not, almost) timeline? I don't think that is what happening now. When May'22 application reached oath stage while Oct'21 application not even started, there seems to be some randomness.

Again, if progress is blocked at the applicant's end or from other agencies (like RCMP), it is okay and understandable. But we are NOT talking about those cases.

I am fairly sure you understand what I am talking about. I think it is not about who get to take the oath, but it is about whose application gets picked up to start the process is what being referred here. I think that's the misunderstanding between what you think FIFO processing means and others are thinking.

Yeah, some persons on this site may just be trolls or IRCC staff. I'm learning to stop engaging when people start trolling in their responses.

I remember when we were complaining about IRCC prioritizing paper over online applications in 2022 and some persons on here were saying we are exaggerating until IRCC released their notes to say exactly what we had been complaining about.
