canada visitor visa for h1 b stamping

hi


i m in USA on h1b, i am planning to go canada for my h1b visa stamp.In order to apply online.there are some questions iam confused.

(1) Do you have a family member who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and is 18 years or older?
yes
no

now my cousin is there, he is citizen, but does it includes in family member ? it should be yes or no.

(2)What is the main purpose of your visit? Help

options :

(1) to visit family.friend
(2) to conduct business
(3) tourism
(4) to attend an interview as a part of the provincial nominee program
(5) program.


i can choose (1) or (3), as my cousin is there ,also (3) as a tourism.
what i need to choose, also even i choose any of them , i need proof, like for example, for option(1) family relation proof
for option(3) tourism proof,

what docs i need for this proof.

YOUR ANSWER SHOULD BE NO. ONE YOUR DIRECT BROTHER OR SISTER COUNTS TOWARDS FAMILY MEMBER.

1. YOU CAN EITHER GET A LETTER FROM YOUR COUSIN/ANYONE STATING THAT THEY ARE INVITING YOU
OR/ 2. YOU CAN MENTION THE REASON AS VISA INTERVIEW WITH AMERICAN CONSULATE (PROOF WOULD BE APPOINTMENT LETTER FROM U.S CONSULATE)

Hello Riya,

I have tried to answer all your questions as much as i can based on my previous experiences.
Question:
(1) What is the main purpose of your visit?

(1) to visit family.friend

Answer: Choose (1) to visit family and friends.. As you mentioned you have a cousin in Canada, you would need an invite letter from them. It would be beneficial if they can provide other supporting documents like Bank statement, Proof of Employment if working, copy of their passport and legal status in Canada proof.

Question: Do u have a family member who is Canadian or permanent resident and is 18 years or older? i have cousin , does it include in family member?
Answer: Understand this point very carefully. Canadian government does not recognize cousin as family member. So you will select 'no' as an answer.


Question: Have you travel to other countries in the previous ten years?
Answer: I am assuming you are a Citizen of India and since currently you reside in US and working on H1b. If you have traveled to any other country other than these two and stayed for more than 6 months, then only you need to mention that in your form.

Question:What is your province of destination?
Answer: Ontario based on your intentions to be in Toronto most of the time during your visit.

Document: Itinerary, Travel Close
You must provide a copy of your flight ticket or booking, if available, and/or the itinerary of your visit (proposed route of your journey.)

i dont have any flight ticket or any plan when i visit canada,what should i provide here?

(2) Document: Purpose of Travel - OtherClose
You must provide documents supporting the purpose of your travel to Canada. Examples include: proof of educational study, wedding invitations, proof of a medical appointment, notification of death, funeral notice, etc.

Answer: a. Since you do not have tickets, i would suggest just mention in your cover letter providing details as to when do you intend to travel.
As you will select Visiting Family, the invite letter would be a proof.

Question: other than that in the form , IMM5645 ,
there is field hwo long you plan to stay : from to
yyyy-mm-dd yyyy-mm-dd.

now i cannot put exact date , as it depends on my visa interview , so what should i put there?

Answer: Well, its never predicted as in when will you get your visa approved. So to be fair to answer this question i would suggest mention the dates at least 40 days in future from the date you apply for Visa. Also, make sure the invite letter has your dates mentioned as well along with your Legal full name, DOB, and possibly you passport no. And if that Invite letter can be notarized then it will be very good( though not a compulsion) .

Question: Funds available for my stay(CAD) , how much do i need to put here?
Answer: Assuming you will visit for 2-3 weeks. I would suggest showing somewhere around USD 8,000 plus would be good enough.
