Canada Study Visa after one Study Visa Rejection

Hi All,

I had applied for Canada study visa under SPP category back in 2013 and my visa got rejected. After my visa rejection, I have done three years distance MCA(Master in Computer Application) from Sikkim Manipal University(Distance Education) with overall 62% and also have 1 years of working experience. My graduation (B.Com from Delhi University with 49% overall) and post-graduation (MCA from SMU with 62% overall) are both distance. Now I am planning to re-apply for Canada student permit.

Am I am eligible to re-apply for Canada student visa of 2 years program in any Ontario university? And what are the roadblock which I can face and how to resolve them?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Amrinder

You'll have to apply under the general category. Make sure your course selection is appropriate and IT should be relevant to your resident country's future prospects/scope.

Don't apply in Ontario, and go for Master's degree only in a reputed university.

It shouldn't, I had my Master's in distance mode as well. I will also apply study permit soon. Just make a good SOP and strong financial statement. Success rate depends on Visa Officer. Just relevant degree with your previous education and strong financial statement should do the trick.

Thanks, @Mandeep62. And can you advise, will my graduation and post-graduation percentage also matter in student visa application?

As my consultant is saying that both my degrees are distance and my percentage is also low in graduation(49%). Is this can be a problem??

Hi Amrinder,

Your previous degree would matter. As, you have done M.C.A with 62%, it isn't that bad. You have also got 1 year working experience. It's all about convincing visa officer via your SOP that your purpose of study is genuine and would boost your career. That's it. Apply in a University and choose a Master's Degree relevant to your work experience.

Jan'17 intake seats are full already. Apply, as soon as possible for Sep'17 intake.

Hi All,

Please advise!!

I am planning to take admission into two years advanced diploma course "Mobile Solution Development" in Conestoga college for May'17 intake in Kitchener.

My previous background is MCA(Software Engineering) from Sikkim Manipal University(Distance) with 62% and also two years Advanced diploma from NIIT(ANIIT) with 75%. I also have one year of working experience as Software Engineer and presently working. And I am applying under general category this time as I had study visa refusal back in 2013. Please note I am not disclosing my bachelor degree to Visa officer as my graduation degree is not relevant to the course I am applying because It was B.com Pass.

I have scored IELTS overall 7 with no band less than 6 and have paid my GIC and one semester fees. Also showing my personal and parental assets.

So what you guys think about my profile now. Is this will satisfy visa officer and what you guys think about my chances this time.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Many thanks

Amrinder
