Hello everyone,

I have applied for Canadian visa under spp category in June 2012 and got rejected after 10 days..I have already paid first sem fee (Rs 4,45000) from my pocket and I showed 10lakh in loan paper for spp course one year....But they rejected on the ground that there is not enough financial documents to support my case and there is some variation in the annual income and fees to be paid.....I guess they didn't see my Ist sem fees receipt :(...what all documents should I further submit?property evaluation by a notary is enough???

Please gimme your valuable advises...

What was the exact reason for rejection? What were your total fees in CAD?

As per my understanding, you need to subtract your pre-payment amount from the total tuition and show a loan of 80% of that amount in addition to CAD 8000 in living expenses. How much does that come to? Did you show that much?

Your financial statement is to be precise, accurate and simple. DO NOT take help of an agent in case you are. Also, which college and program did you apply to and what are your credentials. All this make a huge difference. And did you pay the fees using the bank loan. If not, do so next time. It is important. Also, don't just show the money, explain the resources. What do your parents do and where did the money come from is important because they need to be sure that it is your own money. Do not use new bank accounts. In stead provide them with the bank statements of at least last 6 months to 1 year. I hope it helps.

I have completed my BHM degree and now applying for diploma in professional cookery in Manitoba...
The reasons for the rejection are:
1)You have not satisfied me that you have sufficient funds for living cost and tuition fee for your first year studies and your return transportation from without working in Canada ...because the supporting financial documents you have provided show large deposit inconsistent with your income....You have not provided adequate documentary evidences regarding the origin of this fund...
2)Your loan is less than 80%of 1st year tuition fee and living expense.....

My total fees was Rs 8 Lakh..and paid 4.50L from my brother...and I have already shown them a loan of 10Lakh..

But I guess I have met all their demands..what more should I do to convince them?

Hi
It is infact true that you didn't show a loan of 80%. Here is how I look at it

1st year tuition fees (8 lakhs= 14,500 CAD) + 1000CAD living+ 2000 traveling= 26,500 CAD which is your estimated expenses for one year, now 80% of 26,500CAD is 21,200 CAD which is 11,66,000 INR so you should have at least taken a loan of this amount.
I guess you subtracted the prepaid amount and then took an 80% loan of the remainder.

A diploma in professional cookery after a bachelors in HM does ring a bell.

Next time you apply again change your course take up a masters program in Hospitality management. Even when applying in general category 80% of loan is strongly recommended so take a loan of at least 12 lakhs and provide ample documentation to prove your financial summary. Do not rush for the fall intake apply for the next term in the mean time consider all the points of rejection and work on it.

First of all, your program of choice is wrong. The amount you have shown is good enough but isn't what they are saying is actually what I said in my last post: What they need to know is the source of the money and they need to be sure that you are in a position to use the loan. 10 lacs is more than good enough. I had 8 lacs for two year diploma! Show all your property documentation and the sources of income and apply for a relevant course and I think you'll be fine.

Good luck !!

@OCEANDRIVE: So you're not supposed to subtract the pre-payment amount for calculating 80%? That doesn't make sense. Why would you take out a loan for an amount you've already paid?

If your 1st year fee is $10,000 out of which you've already paid $5000, you only need to take a loan for 80% of the remaining $5000, right? (Plus living expenses, of course.)

Hi
You have to read the 80% loan requirement under SPP literally and make sense of it thats what I did
Copy of an Educational Loan from an Indian Chartered Bank equivalent to at least 80% of tuition +living + travel expenses for one academic year (normally, first year’s tuition, unless already paid, plus $8000).

For a better understanding on this pls read my post here

In that case, I'm f*cked. I already applied yesterday and the loan I had taken was according to the amount that was remaining after I subtracted the pre-payment. Damn, just one day into applying and I find out my visa's gonna be rejected already. How depressing :(

Hi

Now you can't undo your application

Dude I must have gone through this 80% requirement at least a 1000 times because there have been many misleading posts on this subject

Of late I have seen the CHC giving rejections on grounds of not getting 80% of the 1st year expenses as loan and they have mentioned this in the rejection letters of few of the forum members. Even some of the top consultants misguide the students, but I applied on my own.

Although I didn't pay the 1st sem fees from the loan amount I still took a loan of 80% of my 1st year expenses. actually i had take a loan of 8.5 lakhs initially but after getting my head around this thing I increased my loan amount to 11 lakhs I guess that made me eligible under SPP.

If your overall profile is good they might just over look this and a few of them have indeed got their study permits with less than 80% loan.
So don't loose hope your IELTS might just do the trick
