Hi, Please a good advice will help, especially from Regina. Got admission to University Regina for 2 yrs accounting degree, traveling with 2 dependent, I have $35,000 in my account and my aunt in Canada (a medical doctor) promise to pay my tuition fees for the 2 years. Is this fund enough as proof of finance? Will a letter from my aunt be accepted? Thank you

My name is Regina. It is a very common female name in Poland and Lithuania. Nothing to do with Saskatchewan. :D

You aunt should write a letter (notarized) to VO stating that she will pay for your expenses and provide VO with a proof that she has this money available or will have from a reliable source (investment statment, bank saving account, Notice of Assessment from 2 or better 3 previous years.)

To know how much funds all together you need for three of you (you and two dependents) you should know your tuition for a year+ $10 000 /year for you + $4000 /year for EACH dependent + funds for return tickets.

Thank Regina, You are a true hero. My tuition fees is around $14,000 per year, So all in all I need less than $40,000 including return ticket. That I have as I am working has a teacher presently. My aunt is on work permit too for the past 5 years in Canada as a Doctor so proof of her finance is good. Just one last thing will I be expected to show 1 year tuition or the full fees for the 2 yrs program? Thanks again.

In your immigration form you have to show tuition and living expenses for ONE YEAR only. However, you should show all money available at the moment.

In you SOP you should explain where money for the second year will come from (if you do not all amount to show), and provide some proof (your savings, your aunt affidavit, her bank statements, her Notices of Assessments)

You also should consider expenses for your dependents. $14000+10000 (for you)+4000 (for the1st dependent)+4000 (for the 2nd dependent)= $32 000.
And the same amount for another year+ for return tickets. $62000+ $6000(?) for three tickets = $68 000.

Another thing: you are a teacher? Why then to go for accounting degree in CANADA? Your explanation for VO is.....?

Thanks Regina for the financial breakdown, My aunt promise to pay my tuition for the 2 yrs so I guess i just need to show $40,000 for the 2 years as she will be responsible for the $18,000 tuition fees. And My husband will be working on open work permit to provide us with more funds when we get to Canada. As per why studying accounting? I have an accounting diploma already, and I want to do my degree in Accounting now. I am just teaching right now in Korea as a temporary thing to raise money and see the world. Finance is my field and I want to get back to it.

Do not count on it. And do not use as a "funds source" for VO. When you apply for SP CIC demands you to have funds available (or of reliable source, and your husband "maybe working maybe not" is not reliable :) in terms of funds, of course)
As per why studying accounting? I have an accounting diploma already, and I want to do my degree in Accounting now.
Have you worked in finance?
Finance is my field and I want to get back to it.
Well, try to convince CIC then.
