I was in Canada for the last 2 years in Work Permit and came back to India on April 2014. Kindly let me know within how many months I can apply for Canada PR from India in Experience Class category?

My occupation is Computer programmer, NOC 2174, skill level A

If you worked in Canada as NOC 2174, you can use that work experience to apply for CEC. You need to apply within 36 months of gaining the required work experience.

Hi Vaskar, I may also end up in similar situation. I'm currently in Canada, however will probably not be able to apply as asking for experience letter from company may not be taken well. How much is it costing you to apply from India per person?

Application fee and RPRF Fees are same from anywhere ,
Current fees:
Application fee of $550 for applicant and spouse(each) and $150 children (each) -Needs to pay along with initial application.
RPRF fee $490 for applicant and spouse (each) and $0 children -Needs to pay only at later stages of the application , Once the PR is confirmed.

For CEC application, since all the correspondences shall go to CIC offices in Canada , I think you may save some money for courier if you apply with in Canada, Other wise no difference.

Vaskar: I was in Canada from April 2012 to April 2014. So, I can apply for Canada PR in Experienced Class category from India within the year 2017. Please confirm.

Hi,

As new immigration system coming in no body can confirm that. As per the current rules. 1 yr in last 3 yrs. if you left Canada in Apr 2014 then you should apply before Apr 2016.

Still , nobody knows to what happens to CEC after the new system kicks in(hopefully by next year May 1st).

Current CAP resets to 0\8000 from May 1st 2014. Once that gets filled you have to wait for May 1st 2015 and based on new system you MIGHT be able to apply for CEC.

Check this.
