Canada PR - Documents - Help required

Hi Folks

I have a couple of issues, please advise accordingly

1. My Wife's name in passport is Given Name : Jasmeet and Surname : Makkar. In our marriage certificate her name is Jasmeet Kaur. She is applying for a Canada PR along with me. I am the primary applicant and she is dependent. Her education documents have Jasmeet Makkar written on them. Do we have a solution to this problem. Please suggest.

2. I have a birth certificate which does not have my name (this is common in India) but has my DOB, Place of Birth, Parents Name. Will this be a problem. Is there a solution to the same.

Hmmm . I would advice if you can make a correction on your Marriage Certificate that would be great , Is it an official document issued by state government concerned department? Like their are marriage acts under state government which issues marriage certificate

You can get a notarized affidavit from notary along with that you can also add your 10th Passing certificate , You can still use your existing DOB certificate and explain it on cover letter saying the problem and along with it you can attach your school certificate .

Thanks for the reply Gurinder. A immigraton consultant advised me to get a affidavit stating name Jasmeet Makkar and Jasmeet Kaur belong to the same person. And we should be good with that. Your thoughts on this !!!

It would be good if you get your marriage certificate with correct name as that an legal document for immigration. If this is not possible then get an affidavit. But first try get the your marriage certificate corrected.

Sure, I will try to get the name of my wife changed on the Marriage certificate. Based on the initial inquires I have made, it looks like they will not change the name. I am still trying again on this.

But if, finally the output is that they do not change the name on certificate, can I take the affidavit route and come out successful ?
