Hello Folks,
I know this topic has been discussed earlier by other posters however looking through the responses it is somehow leading to more questions.
I will be receiving my Canadian PR card soon but I am also currently eligible for british nationality earned through living in the UK.
Once I receive the british nationality my old passport will become invalid and the nationality details shown on Canadian PR card will be different. Will there be any problems while entering Canada next time?
Some say one need to contact the Canadian Embassy in London to let them know of the change in nationality prior to re-entry to Canada. This will take ages as the London processing offices could take forever.
Some recommend contacting the CIC in Canada who deal with PR Card. I know one cant apply for change of details in PR card whilst outside Canada.
And others recommend travelling with both passport (current and invalid) and explain the situation at the port of entry immigration officer.
What's feasible and legal in such circumstances?
Any soul with first hand experience on this matter please advise. A valid govt. of canada weblink explaining such scenarios will also be really useful.
thanks a lot!
