Canada Police Clearance Certificate

CIC requested the above from me , as I have studied in Canada from 1985-88.
Does anyone has similar experience to share - i.e. the procedure to get it.

I am now in HCMC. Get my set of fingerprints via the local police and send
it to Ottawa for verification? Thanks.
