Hello

I am eligible to apply for Canada and Australia immigration but not able to choose which to opt for.

Currently working as an IT professional with 5+ years of experience.

Can someone tell me which country is more suitable for IT and which provides more opportunities for IT workers.

Thank you

A good way to determine where might be better for you is to research the current opportunities that are available in your particular field and on a general level to gauge how open the market is in those countries. LinkedIn, Indeed and Monster are good places to start. Then you can contact people working in those fields via LinkedIn so that they share their experiences/challenges with you which will help you better understand how they found opportunities and settled in. Definitely Canada and the reason being is it is connected to US and they 2 are the major hub of IT but yes definitely a more competition

Australia is a small market but as lots of immigrants are moving to Australia [as Australia immigration is way easy to get comparing to Canada current express entry point system] that makes things little messy for those who are coming to Australia for jobs in IT/Telecom

Actually, Australian immigration is just as difficult as Canadian and not also that, Canadian Express Entry system was copied from Australia who started this system of immigration first with their Skilled Independent visa. This visa is for points-tested skilled workers who are not sponsored by an employer or family member or nominated by a state or territory government similar to the Canadian skilled worker through Express Entry program.

I actually know someone who pursued both the Australian and Canadian PR visa systems and got both. He eventually opted to come to Canada where he has more friends and which is closer to the US, a major IT innovation hub.

I agree, moreover, Australia's list of occupations that they will consider for the immigration is not as extensive as that of Canada's, which limits Australia only to those who have a very specialized skill.

Well I am from the those who have Australia Immigration as well and it was way easy for me. In my coworkers circle everyone has gotten an Australian Immigration Visa but only 2 people including me have gotten Canadian so in my circle coming to canada is a dream still

IT opportunities are less in Australia compared to Canada, I got my friends completing MS Computers in Australia and working elsewhere due to lack of IT opportunities. These are just my individual thoughts and information I have as far as IT jobs in Australia is concerned.

Depends on your speciality.

A lot of people in my class they got jobs in Australia and with 6 figures pay for 6-8 years dev experiences. But in Canada, I hardly can secure an offer for over a year.

A lot of fake job ads are here. HR or recruitment agency just want your CV as a backup or network.
