lol i think ur confused and comparing apples to oranges. manufacturing is 10% roughly of gdp as per ur data here. what percentage of gdp is oil and gas?uxd said:
LOL Forestry, minerals and oil put together are far greater than manufacturing. I think you are the one who is confused. Conventional manufacturing includes products that are manufactured in a plant - on an assembly line - like China or Japan has. Manufacturing is 10% but services is 70%.
lol please do take some math classes in june 2014 per ur link forestry 26k + 140k oil and gas= 166k < 174k manufacturing. dont compare sector to manufacturing industry. sector is a combination of all small small industries . compare industry to industry. jeez u need some good schooling .uxd said:

I am not making sense? You are making a futile unrelated argument. All I was trying to say is Canada is not a manufacturing economy. It is a services economy and "conventional manufacturing" is negligible here. Ok so oil, mineral and forestry is almost equal to manufacturing. I missed utilities there. See thats the point. You have no idea of economics and just rely of pure math summation. I clearly mentioned Natural Resources and gave oil gas forestry as examples of that sector. When one compares GDP to manufacturing contribution, yes it is only 10% as compared to services sector which is 70%. I make this argument because someone posted that Canada is becoming a manufacturing economy. And I disagree with that. Canada doesn't export manufactured products as much as it exports oil gas minerals and forestry products. Looks like you are just making an argument to show that Manufacturing is big in Canada. But it is not. If it were big, you wouldnt be importing Asian goods here.mead said:
