Hello Everyone,

Warm greetings to you all!

I am a student enrolled at one of Canada's distinguished colleges, set to graduate in April 2024. Over the past 7+ years, I've amassed valuable experience within the IT industry, serving in various capacities such as Software Specialist, Senior Business Analyst, and Senior Product Implementation Consultant. My journey in Canada began in September 2022, when I completed a one-year post-graduate certificate program in April 2023. Following a brief 4-month hiatus, I embarked on another program in September 2023, slated to conclude in April 2024.

In tandem, my wife joined me in Canada towards the end of April 2023. She brings with her over 5 years of prior experience in the IT industry back in our home country, specializing in roles such as Software Specialist and Senior Cloud Analyst. Presently, she holds the position of Clinical System Analyst at a Healthcare Science Center in Canada, classified as a Skill Level A job, and has completed 7 months in this role. Recently, we both undertook the IELTS General test, with her achieving an overall score of 6.5 with no band less than 6 and me scoring 7.5 with no band less than 6.5.

We are seeking guidance regarding whether we should designate her as the primary applicant while I act as the secondary applicant within the same application. Furthermore, we are curious about the specific category under which we would be classified and whether her occupation in Healthcare qualifies for consideration. Additionally, I hold a bachelor's degree from India, while she possesses multiple certificates, including a diploma and a bachelor's degree, also earned in India. We have obtained a WES evaluation report for our educational qualifications.

We would greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions on the most optimal approach for filing our Permanent Residency application. Thank you all in advance for your assistance.

You'll need to calculate the scores yourself to see who scores the most points. Both of you can also create separate profiles under Express Entry as primary applicants.

If you want this level of guidance and support in determining how to apply for PR, you'll want to look into hiring an immigration lawyer to help you.

We greatly appreciate your prompt response to our inquiry. Upon reviewing our scores independently, we've noted that she holds a permanent full-time position in Canada, is below the age of 30, and is employed at a Healthcare Science Center. Our query pertains to whether her profile qualifies to be categorized under Healthcare Occupations

This is research you will need to do yourself or alternatively hire a lawyer to assist you.

She appears to be working in IT which will likely make her ineligible for healthcare specific PR pathways but you’ll need to look at specifics for each program.
