Hi, I have worked as Software Developer(NOC2174) for 2 years and IT analyst(NOC2171) for 4 years and currently i am working as Developer for past 7 months. I made this switch as I was offered a better pay.

My question is

1. Can i write my current occupation as Software Developer and Intended occupation as IT Analyst as i am planning to apply for NOC 2171 - IT analyst category? Will this affect my FSW chances?

2. If i am offered a FSW visa, Can i work in any category or should I work only as IT Analyst (for which I applied)? Is there a requirment like I should work only in the Intended occupation to be eligible for Citizenship?

Thanks.

after visa you can work in any category without any restriction.

about intended occupation it is advisable that you use current and intended occupation "SAME". (though it is not Compulsory, but advisable)

With all my respect to ram841,
may I be allowed to ask one silly question?

When we speak of "occupation", we imply only the main title given for a particular NOC or any tilte from example titles listed for this NOC (since the main title is sometimes too general while other titles suggested may better fit)?

What does CIS want us to do?

Thank you all.

I am a manufacturing technician and I intend to apply under NOC 2241 - electrical & ele tronics engineering technologist and technician. Do I need to enter Electrical & Electronics Engineering Techologist & Technician (very broad)under the Intended occupation or should I be more specific and write Manufacturing Technician (current occupation)which is one of the titles under this NOC. Thanks!
