Canada Citizenship - List time with Canadian temporary resident or protected person status

I came to Canada on temporary resident status on March 1 2015.
Now I have required number of days to apply citizenship. While I am looking at Physical Presence Calculator, under <List time with Canadian temporary resident or protected person status> section - It asks

Please only list the periods of time you had authorized temporary resident or protected person status in Canada and the type of status you had between 2015-01-18 and 2017-06-19 and select Add Entry. Select Calculate when you have finished listing all periods of temporary residence.

2015-01-18 - is the date when I am preparing the document.
2017-06-19 - is the date until when i was on workpermit.

I can enter 2015-03-01 to 2017-06-19 as being on workpermit. but there is no option to select from 2015-01-18 to 2015-02-28

If you did not have temporary resident or protected person status in Canada between 2015-01-18 and 2015-02-28, then these dates should not be listed. Your 'eligibility period' is always calculated as five years before the date you sign your application, but that doesn't necessarily mean you need to have been physically present as a temporary resident or protected person from 2015-01-18. Remember you just need 1,095 days (3 years) out of the last five years to meet the residency requirement. Assuming you became a permanent resident on 2017-06-20, and have been physically present in Canada for at least two full years (730 days) since that date and can account for any absences since then, you will meet the requirements. Hope this helps!

Thank you the detailed explanation.
If you look at the screenshot, you can see a red bar error message which is not letting me go to next step if I don’t enter that period.
And there is no option for me to select non resident. Do you have any suggestion on that?

I see why you are getting the error message. You should be using 2020-01-18 as the date you will be signing the application, not 2015-01-18.

But, if you read on the line above. It is asking my status from 5 years from now and before I got my PR.
5 years from now (18 Jan 2020) = 18 Jan 2015 to (19 Jun 2017) when I got my PR.
I am able to explain my status from 1 Mar 2015 as being in work permit but struggling to find item in drop down to put my time from 18 Jan 2015 to 28 Feb 2015.

You don't list time that you didn't have any status in Canada on this page, if you don't enter any status for a date range then the calculator doesn't give you any credit for this time.

If the exact date that you became a Permanent Resident was 2017-06-19 (as shown on your PR card) then your status as a Temporary Resident (Worker) ended the day before, so you should enter 2015-03-01 to 2017-06-18. Perhaps that is what is causing the problem. I just did a mock calculation on the form, using those dates, and it worked fine, no error message. Of course, I don't know your travel history, but if you did not leave Canada, you would have 1,308 days of physical presence (943 plus 365 days' maximum credit for the period as a temporary resident), which is well over what you need (1,095 days). You don't need to worry about entering anything for 2015-01-18 to 2015-02-28 because you apparently had no status in Canada during that time.

I’m kinda confused with the physical presence calculator.
I had i permit to work during 2 years but i left canada 2 times for 3 weeks.

So considering that, the physical presence is:
-First period present until i left as temporary worker
The other period I was present as temporary worker.
My point is even if i had an status I should only include the time i was physically present?
Please help!

What you should do is input your work permit time of issue and expire time don't worry about anything else. Then answer the question about time you left and returned to Canada honestly, the calculator will do the work for you and will give you the time you were present in Canada and your credit.

Its confusing because it says on the FAQ:

“to list all periods of time you had authorized temporary resident status or protected person status in Canada. Every day you spent in Canada as a temporary resident or protected person before you become a permanent resident counts as a half day up to a maximum of 365 days”

As I see it it’s only the time I was present
