Canada Banned entry to all except Citizens and PRs from today. I was to land on 21st March and CoPR expiring on 31st March? Are CoPR holders allowed ?

Try to get interview inside Canada. That is technically an option.

Hi folks!
I'm in the same boat.
I have booked my flight for 18th March.
I've booked mine for 24th March, leaving São Paulo. I called Air Canada today, but they told me they do not have any official information from Canada's government. They said tomorrow they must have more information.

What can i do now ? :(
You can fill a webform and state the reason why you could not travel. They will guide you on what next to do. No need to panic

is there a cutoff time in regards to the remaining time on the visa within which you can request an extension and they will accept it? mine expire at sep 10. not sure if it is too early to do so.
I don't think you need an extension, you are still a good 5-6 months away from expiry. Wait till June situation should get lot better by then.

Please Let us know what is the reply from them about this thank you
I was supposed to land in Calgary on 21st March on CoPR for the first time. My CoPR expires on 28 July. The latest announcement by the prime minister indicates border closure for non citizens and non permanent residents. Not sure if CoPR constitutes as permanent residence. I have sent an email to IRCC..

Please keep us posted if anyone gets a response from them

I'm supposed to travel tomorrow lol.

This is crazy.

Please anyone who can confirm if COPR holders count as PRs or not, let us know as soon as possible.

No COPR is not PR untill the landing formalities have been done. There is no official guidance on this matter from IRCC as of now.

Here is the link https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-special-measures.html

The guidance on this link was updated till 15th March only and PM's statement came today which says only PR and Citizens will be allowed in Canada. It's possible IRCC updates this link tomorrow. So keep an eye out and follow whatever IRCC says.

Hi all,

My CoPR will expire by September 2020, thus I do have time in that case. However, our flights are booked on 7th April from Kolkata, India. Anyone who has received any "written confirmation" that CoPRs are not considered as PRs and thus can/cannot land - Please inform us all.

I think, more people have been affected by this rather than by COVID-19 :p Hope the situation cools down faster!
