A 1-year program usually takes 2 semesters of 4 months to complete (or 8 months). Make sure the program is described as a 1-year program. You would get 1 year of PGWP.Isn't 8 mo too short?
thank you for the response, does this mean if I get accepted to a 6 months program I can enter Canada without a permit? How does one do that? You won't need study permit if it is 6 months or less so for 8 months you need study permit.
" Short-term courses [R188(1)(c)]
Foreign nationals may enter Canada or remain in Canada without a study permit to attend a course or program of study of 6 months’ duration or less "
If 6 months, you apply for a visitor visa. You can’t work or get PGWP.thank you for the response, does this mean if I get accepted to a 6 months program I can enter Canada without a permit? How does one do that?
My study permit of 3 years program was refused due to insufficient funds last time, so I am hoping to apply with a short duration.
Thank you for the response, but 8 months is enough for a student visa right? If 6 months, you apply for a visitor visa. You can’t work or get PGWP.
You need a student visa yes. You will need to address reasons for refusal in first application too as well as show education/career progression.Thank you for the response, but 8 months is enough for a student visa right?
What was the reason that got you denial? I think it's better to analyze that first before changing to a shorter program. If the denial was because of funds, changing from a 3-year to a 1-year program won't be different. And as mentioned by Naturgrl, a 6-month study won't grant you PGWP.thank you for the response, does this mean if I get accepted to a 6 months program I can enter Canada without a permit? I don want a PGWP, I only want the student permit. And since they refused me due to my proof of fund not being enough, I am changing the person whose statement I will be showing(she has bigger funds and assets), but the 3 year pg DIPLOMA I was previously accepted to is closed so I opted to an 8 month pg CERTIFICATE program with a similar career path. what do you think? What was the reason that got you denial? How old are you? If over 22, then you should be showing your own funds. If being “sponsored” then a parent. Any other person can stop supporting your studies. You need to show that it builds on your education and work experience.I don want a PGWP, I only want the student permit. I am 24, only graduated about 4 months ago. I was gonna use my god mother's funds, would showing old photos would help? How old are you? If over 22, then you should be showing your own funds. Yea seems like, but I think you will still need a VISA to enter canada unless you are from visa exempt country. What did your GCMS notes say? You have none of your own funds, no work experience and funds aren't from a family member. You should be showing some of your own funds and have some work experience to justify costs and show how program will expand your career. Photos make no difference.I am 24, only graduated about 4 months ago. I was gonna use my god mother's funds, would showing old photos would help?
I didnt ask for GCMS notes, I was hopping to re apply quickly. What is the work experience for? Is it necessary? I graduated just 4 months agoWhat did your GCMS notes say? So were funds the only reason? Post the reasons? What program are you applying for because usually you show some work experience in the program’s field to show career advancement, higher pay etc. to justify costs. You are a recent graduate with no work experience so unless going for a Masters, you aren’t building on career/education.I didnt ask for GCMS notes, I was hopping to re apply quickly.
