And what would the immigration agent ask you ?
When he asks you about the amount you are bringing and you say 12000 USD for example ...

I think I read someone saying it is not even legal .. even if you provide proof of the origins of the amount ...

You can bring as much as you want, as long as you declare it. There is no limit. Be prepared to answer why you need so much cash and prove it is legitimate (not proceeds of crime). There is no tax on it.

you only declare if it's cash. it's none of their business how much money you have. if you're wire transfering them, doesn't matter either.
