Dear All,

I'm from Egypt and wanted to apply for skilled worker category in Quebec. I've been learning in English schools and studied french as second language in High school for 3 years. My french level is in Niveau 3 (Notting hill colleges assesed my level) and I'm trying to enroll in one of the french courses.
I love french and always do some self study as I used to travel to France on holidays.

My question is how many points I should score my self in the application if I submit my secondry school certificate with 3 years learning as a second language?

Also, after I submit my application, I'm planning to take DELF A2 or B1, it will depend on my level at the time of the exam.

Appreciate your guidance as it confused me a lot.

Cheerioooo:)

Dear, If you want to apprear in A 2 prior you should pass AI and constantly you want to appear in B1 .you
must complete A2. It is necessary. While Delf is mostly useful to get education in French speaking country.
Secondly, you can use it for immigration purpose. There are points for Federal and provincial immigration
programme. Quebec immigration programme also accept Delf .

Thank you khalidhaider

Would I still be able to claim points from the high school certificate (studied french as second language for 3 years) untill i go for the DELF?

If i can do you know how many pints to claim?

Regards,
Rolla.

Dear, you must pass Delf or TCF for immigration to Quebec. a1,a2 basic b1 b2 moderate,c1 c2 high.
While, there must be interview to check yours language proficiency.TCF is test for canadian francaise
and there is only two module in tcf listening and speaking.
Therefore, your school certificate will not be useful. You should pass Delf, TEF OR TCF.
In short, i would like to say third party certificate.
Thanking you,

some body told me that the duretion of french course tht u choose will count the score. there is no test.
is that correct
? if no, where will apply for test for french in india?

Here's a guide to go by...

A1 - 2 PCT ( NIVEAU 1-2 DCS)
A2 - 6 PCT ( NIVEAU 3-4 DCS)
B1 - 8 PCT ( NIVEAU 5-6 DCS)
B2 - 12 PCT(NIVEAU 7-8 DCS)
C1 & C2 - 16 PCT ( NIVEAU 9 -12 DCS)

i think ur wrong about that. its the test scores that determine ur actual proficiency right ? someone can learn for years together and be bad at it !

you can appear for DELF/DALF or TEF tests at Alliance Française centers in India.

inspite of all these certificate submissions and point claiming, you will most probably be called for an interview with the BIQ to have your french tested and for other reasons. so even if you claim a low score earlier and you speak great french to the interviewer, you get awarded more points there.

Its not necessary to 1st write A1 and then go for A2. if you are competent enough you can appear for A2 / B1 directly. atleast thats possible in India. not sure abt other places.

Siddharth, for 2 points you need to score well on your DELF A1. If you enroll at Alliance Francaise, thats 4 months of classes - a1 : part 1&2.

But the whole point is not to just stop at a1. this will definitely earn you some points, but if you have aspirations of settling down in quebec, keep learning french as it will help you professionally and socially.

just my 2 paise ! :-)

hi, wibez_well, is it true that we can skip A1 and take A2 directly?
Will not AF people ask for any proof or test result to regiester a candidate for A2?
I am asking this because I want to appear directly for A2 level. Since I want to avoid time gap taken for declaring result and going for next level exam.
Kindly suggest.
