Can you apply for SOWP after your receive AOR1 ?

My partner is sponsoring me to Canada through Spouse/Common-law sponsorship. We applied at the end of summer. He has just received AOR1 in his email. I haven't received anything yet. Can I use that AOR to apply for an open work permit?

My partner is sponsoring me to Canada through Spouse/Common-law sponsorship. We applied at the end of summer. He has just received AOR1 in his email. I haven't received anything yet. Can I use that AOR to apply for an open work permit?

So just to be clear, your partner is PR and has applied to sponsor you.
If so, only sponsor get AOR email.

You can use that AOR email to apply for OWP (not SOWP as mostly use to refer to spouse open work permit for foreign workers/students) while you are waiting for the spsonsorship application to process.
