Hi Everyone,
My wife and I are currently in US. She got a virtual oath ceremony invite for Jan. Can she apply for Canadian passport from US with oath ceremony. She don’t want to leave US coz the current visa is stamped to Indian passport.

please advise. Thanks

Doesn't she need to be in Canada for her oath ceremony even though its virtual?

Please contact IRCC asap.
They very rarely allow for a ceremony to be taken from outside Canada, and there's a very high probability your wife has to come back to Canada for her ceremony.
As for the "main" question, yes, a Canadian citizen can apply for a passport from the USA (or any other country where Canada offers consular services!).

As others have said, please confirm your wife will travel to Canada to take the oath while physically in Canada. If so, yes, she can apply for the passport from the US.

If she wants to take the oath while in the US, she needs to contact IRCC immediately. It's extremely rare for IRCC to allow this.
