Hi All
I have the same problem regarding Sight,i had an accident back in 1990's and my retina was damaged and i have to under go to operations.so i cant see any thing from that eye apart from light or movements.the appearance is not good as well and i use lense to match both eyes.
now i have received medical request and im planning to book it as soon as possible,but at the same time im a bit worried about that scenerio.i spoke to some senior forum members and they said that it should not be a problem.
I read some posts on diffrent forums that some DMP's they dont even bother to check eye sight.
any suggestions or similar experince plz share to help and where should we go for medicals in that case.

NO -------------even if youre blind, that wont matter.

They test your blood, urine and chest xray.

No No...EYe sight doesnt have any effect on Canadian Immigration.

For your reference
When determining whether any person is inadmissible on medical grounds, the medical officer is obliged to consider the nature, severity or probable duration of any health impairment from which the person is suffering as well as other factors, such as:
Danger of contagion;
Unpredictable or unusual behaviour that may create a danger to public safety; and
The supply of social or health services that the person may require in Canada and whether the use of such services will deprive Canadian nationals of these services.
* The excessive demand component is waived under the Family Sponsorship category of Canada immigration for the spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner and dependent children of the Sponsor. The Sponsored person(s) still may be refused if their condition is considered to be a danger to Canadian public health or safety.

I don't think it will be a problem, after all it is not a contagious disease. Please be calm and go ahead to apply for your student visa. Good luck

DMP did a basic eye exam on us. We found out that our daughter was very short sighted and didn't wear glasses at the time. I immediately took her for an eye exam at an opticians and gave the DMP a copy of the report. He sent it in with the medicals to LVO, and they haven't asked for any other tests to be done

good luck
