Can we use private couriers in Canada for ppr /wp?

Hello all . As everyone knows that Canada post might be going on strike from next Monday and I have also talked to my buddy who also works in Canada post said it's very positive they will go on strike . I was wondering can we send our passports to ircc through private courier ? I am going to apply for bowp so should I expect ircc to use any other service to send me the document ?

Same question.. IRCC didn't publish anything about contingency plan regarding mail service disruption from Canada Post. You only have 30 days to send the passport. I am afraid the strike will last longer than a month

PP request instruction specifically says Canada post envelope (for return of your passport).
I doubt that they will change that quickly enough to let everybody know.

Courier choice when sending the passport from you to CIC shouldn't really matter as long as they get the package.

They will have to change things and I'm pretty sure that they have someone planning all this as we are discussing. Immigration cannot stop the process because of Canada post strike. It may cause some delays but I'm pretty sure IRCC won't hold PPRs for 8 weeks.

They don't go like, oh we are going to stop working until X date.
They will stop the strike when they agree on something.

Somebody mentioned that the last strike was 8 weeks.

this time the strike is pretty positive and in 2011 it ran up to 3 weeks . I'm think ircc should come up with a update regarding this .

All of my billings and statement from banks, insurance, phone, etc. already told me the contingency plan either using purolator, fedex, etc. They also advised me to seek alternative for delivery for time sensitive documents.

But it seems like CIC didn't say anything at all about the mail service disruption.. any idea?

Just noticed that CIC Twitter was very active today. I've tweeted them asking about alternative to submit passport. I advice others to tweet too so they atleast reply to someone.
