Hi, my wife has a visitor visa to canada. We applied for her spousal PR as outland but she was in Canada when it was approved and we did her virtual landing. After virtual landing she travelled to India as her father was sick. Her PR card was received in mail after she went to India and I sent it to India but looks like the courier lost it. So, now we applied for PRTD a week ago and its still in processing. So, now we got a question if she can travel to canada using the visitor visa and at the canada airport she can show the border agent her Ecopr for her status in Canada. Has anyone done that before, is it even legal?

Did she apply for urgent processing for the PRTD?
One a person becomes a PR, all previous visas become invalid.

@CitImmCanada I have a valid Visitor's visa, will this be canceled at the time of receiving Confirmation of Permanent Residency? And would I be able to travel as a visitor before doing the landing as a PR?

Hi, your TRV is only cancelled when you go through the process of landing as a PR. Up until then, your TRV is valid. Sorry for the delay!

She will need a PRTD to return to Canada via a commercial carrier (airline), because they require it (or a valid PR Card).
She is no longer a visitor when coming to Canada.
One a person becomes a PR, all previous visas become invalid.
