Can we shift/transfer university after reaching canada

Hii guys,
This is Anvesh from hyderabad, india

I have applied for Meng(electrical) course for this winter 2014 @university of windsor, carleton university, university of waterloo, and dalhousie university

I got rejection from dalhousie and university of waterloo

I got admission from University of windsor for above mentioned course and intake on 9th nov .....and also completed my medicals on 15th nov and bank loan also santioned for above stated university also completed wireless transfer of 8250cad and want to file visa on nov25th

Here comes the twist

I got admission from carleton university on 16th november...Actually i want to go for carleton university, but there is not enough time to go to medicals and change name on bank loan statement and to file visa....

My question is whether can i shift or transfer my university after reaching canada i.e..,from windsor to carleton,if so i already paid fees for windsor will they return back my money....and also what about my study permit.

Seniors plz help..regarding this issue

you would not have to change anything with study permit, but you will have to check Waterloo's refund policy(email them), if they refund your fees in full, I don't think there will be a problem in transferring.

I don't think that the univ's name is mentioned anywhere in medicals. Moreover, it is the same for any univ.

Reg the bank loan, you may request the branch manager to change the name of the institution. He can easily do that as along as the amount of loan is more or less the same. I have done that too.

when you have not yet applied for visa, I think it would be better to apply directly for the uni you like and avoid the process of changing univs after landing, though it is possible.

Reg the refund, the situation remains the same. If they will refund, they will do it even now. else never. I think there should be no probs in getting a refund.

Then why do we have show offer lettre to DMP while going for medicals. I believe, the DMP mentions the University/College name on their online information system which is accessible to CHC. Also, I suggested to transfer after reaching Canada because there's not enough time left now for all the refund procedure and then wire transferring to another institution as visa application deadline for January intake is Dec 1.

Depends on how early you reach Canada before the start of classes at both Uni's especially the prefered one.

hello i transferred univerity in 2013, but my study permit was obtainedd 2012. last year i called cic and was informed i do not need to notify them. however i see some changes in the rules for dli transfer. so do i still have to notify them regarding the transfer? i am planning to go home for christmas and i do not want any problem re entering canada.. thanks

PLease help! Can I switch from 1 year Postgraduate course to 2-year diploma program within the same college? Do I have to notify CIC? Any problem with such change?? because I assume I will have to extend my study permit then...

hello, but i transferred a year ago before all this designated learning institution law came. how will i notify them online? i have tried and it is always unsuccessful.
