Dear Qorax and Senior Members..

Hopefully with the will of Almighty, i will be landing in Edmonton in March , just for giving the address of my relatives for dispatching the PR.
And then within one week i will come back to Dubai due to some commitments.

My question is , can i re settle myself in Toronto? What will be the procedure of getting the ONTARIO health card? as i will be already
having the health card received from Edmonton.

Please guide me.

Thanks.

Hi, You can resettle in Ontario if you wish.

As per the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care website in the
"Am I eligible for OHIP right away or do I have to wait? section."

"If you are an eligible resident moving to Ontario from another part of Canada, the health insurance of your former province/territory may cover you during the waiting period."

You can find information on the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan website in the " What if I move? " section.

"Moving from Alberta to another province or territory within Canada"

You are covered by the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP) for the balance of the month in which you leave, and for the next two consecutive months. This ensures continuous coverage until you are eligible for health insurance in your new location."

Also view the article " How can I get health care coverage (OHIP)? " in nthe following link:-

Perfectly said Wilson.

Folks remember. If you are under FSW, then you can live and work anywhere in Canada, while minding the health care plans of each province as well the job regulations.

Cheers

Hello

Hello Qorox,

Could you pls. throw some insights on my case ?

My E-Case status reads (it is in "In process" status)

"We received your application for permanent residence on August 7, 2009.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on September 30, 2009. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Your application and supporting documents were received by the Buffalo office. They are pending review.

We transferred your application to the Buffalo office on October 6, 2009. The Buffalo office may contact you."

After this there have been no updates yet. When I enquired the Buffalo office, they said it is still in process, whereas it is already close to 2 years after the file reached the Buffalo office.
Is there anything that I should do to know about the actual status of my file ?
Regards,
Kumar
