can we go to any passport office physically within ontario for passport ? what documents needed?
 
Yes. Apart from application, you only need: Citizenship Certificate and Some Proof of ID(DL or ON ID )

Yes. Did that yesterday. in Brampton Was a 2 hour process - end to end. Standing in line, docs given a cursory glance and then verified by a person at the counter, post which a token is given to actually submit the document at the Window and payment.
