Hey guys have a question

Can we expect an open work permit after AOR - EE
 
No you can't. I got my AOR and called them yesterday, they said no.We have to wait until status changes to Positive.

Hmmmm. According to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2013/ob485A.asp 'Positive Eligibility' is reached for CEC upon confirmation of AOR.

That's how it was under the classic CEC system, I am unsure of 1) Why would they change it?; and 2) Why would they not tell anyone about it? I can't find any literature on CIC that says otherwise.
 
I hadn't heard about needing to wait until your status changes to positive but it makes sense, if they're issuing AOR's as soon as you submit your doc's that you'd need to wait until it was actually checked and all was alright with it before you can get the BOWP...
 
But previously, an AOR was considered 'Positive Eligibility' - I haven't read anything anywhere that suggests this has changed.
 
I mean in the sense that previously AOR's were issued once your docs were checked and found to be complete. With EE people are getting AOR's as soon as they upload their docs. It makes sense they'd need to wait to apply for a BOWP until they've been checked over. Otherwise they could end up giving a year's work permit to someone with an incomplete application, or problems with their application.
 
Oh gotcha - I had no idea you got issued an AOR as soon as you uploaded your docs! That's good to know.
 
Could it be because they received ITA under FSWP and not CEC?
