where is your uncle? if outside the country then they have to wire it
once the bank gets It then you may instruct the bank to put it into your GIC

your in india right now? and your uncle wants to deposit into your scotia account in india?

or your uncle in Toronto want to set up a GIC account for you?

what is your story you need to be clear with your

GIC account as long as the money is ready it can be set up for open term or closed which ever you like
your uncle if he is in Toronto and wants to set it up in Toronto for you he can.

Ok i opened my GIC account in india through online, but my uncle who lives in toronta can he put the money into my account from toronto if i give him my account number with scotia bank

no he can not
gic is an investment account
so to deposit funds branch needs to set it up.

if there is a bank in India that's gic have your uncle wire the money to that branch they will deposit it
but it can not be done online
