CAN WE CARRY PICKLES WITH US ?

am going to TORONTO on 19th.
am planning to take a couple of kgs of pickles with me.(well packed)
will they(@airport) allow them ?
few of my friends said i'll be given a form in the flight...in which i should declare the items am bringing.
do i need to mention that am carrying pickles ?

YES!! If you don't, you will be in big trouble. They may well confiscate them anyway but at least you won't have to pay the $800 fine.

They will tell you after you have declared them. The rules change all the time based on perceived risk.

People usually carry them, Toronto is a little strict with all this but Vancouver is cool as per my personal experience. You can get a total of 200 cig. and i carried 800 without declaring them. I was good, but it was Vancouver in my case.

And when they catch you, you lose the lot AND you get a big fine. Don't screw with Customs.

It's not just a question of being fined. You could lose it ALL. If you declare it, you can bring in as much as you like, and it's not a problem. And, yes, they do check. They have dogs that are trained to detect currency by smell.

Immigration staff loves to have free food. It is always good to bring food for them. They will confiscate it anyhow.

You will get everything here...don't bring any food here coz they are very specific in food items...they will charge you $800 fine..

let me make some thing clear
Canadian Immigration officers are friendly
i bought 3-4 kg of sweets with me they asked me what are you caring i said some sweets, he said me are they good because every student carry it

you can carry spices but they should branded like MDH should clearly written what's in it and must not be opened

Note sure about pickles (but you can always buy it from Indian grocery just $3 max)
but make sure if you are caring more than 10k declare it and show them some kind of receipt or proof that all those money belong to you

i haven't seen any dogs in Canadian immigration at Toronto Airport make 3 trips 1st time from India other time from USA
