We are applying for Can PR from the US for my American husband so we can move to Can. My kids are deemed dual citizens but only have US birth certificate and passport.

Do I need to apply for Can birth certificate for my kids before we move to Can, or can we take care of that once we're in Can?

You will not get a Canadian birth certificate for your kids because they were not born in Canada. You can however apply for citizenship cards for them. You don't have to do it before you move but it is advisable to do it as soon as possible to get it over with. You never know when they might need them.

Right! Yes, sorry I meant proof of citizenship, not birth certificate. Thanks!
You should get right on it. Other posters have had problems enrolling children in School and getting medical plan coverage with no proof of citizenship.

If you apply now and state that you need them fast because you are about to move, you might get them in like 2 months.
