A friend told me to not file my application for January intake NOW (I will be filing in a week's time) because he feels embassy people are really in a time crunch now and are just hurriedly making decisions without due consideration to all the documents and the visa quota for this year might be near an end (only lakh or so people enter every year as students). So he suggested me to file for may intake and he also advised to file for it pretty early in January? Can there be any truth to this?

who can say its all speculation ...one might argue that because of time crunch they dont look at much details and give visas fast. So dont put too much thought into what happens at visa office and go by ur time line. See how ur documents will be affected by ur decision to apply now or later like bank statements , bank loan etc.

Yeah...they may be replying fast but lately, most of the replies people have been sharing here are of refusals. And I didn't really understood this -

refusals dont depend on when one has applied(unless cic decides to reduce number of visa after certain date) .....and what i meant by documents is ,will ur bank statement still be valid at the time u apply if its later.....as u may have money in the bank now and u will have to keep it till u apply so funds will be tied up. so i meant will all ur documents be still valid at that date.

Brother! Even if you apply now, your visa might take long enough and you may have to consider the MAY intake. So, act wise and don't make decisions on what your friends say.

I think it is not a bad time to apply now. My cousin applied on 8th and got his visa on 15th. I've also applied on 12th and awaiting my results. Give it a try if you have all your documents ready. But don't delay it any further..

I guess I need to watch "The Secret" again and take a break from from this forum for sometime.

Thanks for the advice guys, I am currently waiting for GIC certificate. I will apply once it comes ....hopefully in a week's time.
